Founded in 2011, iFood is today the largest foodtech in Latin America, operating in the food delivery industry via internet in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Colombia. To pursuit an audacious digital expansion plan and enter a completely new business front – the B2B market – iFood needed a partner with the same visionary mindset. It was not enough to simply augment the internal team of programmers. iFood wanted a 360º committed partner in all product stages. That could give them unlimited power to innovate. To discuss and test ideas, making them a successful reality. And, of course, with the experience, talents, and delivery capacity required for such a mission. CHALLENGE: MAKING LIVES EASIER AND UNCOMPLICATE FOOD DELIVERY
Speaking of the journey, at Invillia it all starts from the beginning: PEOPLE. How can we assure results without the best multidisciplinary squad for each specific challenge? Challenges are all different. They require different people. After a deep understanding of iFood positioning, goals and digital expansion vision, we gathered the best talents and embedded them into their culture. With joint forces. There’s no Invillia team and client’s team. There’s THE TEAM.
So, THE TEAM had a common challenge to address: making companies’ and employees’ lives easier by transforming the way corporate food expenses are managed. Or, in other words, to replace an extremely time consuming, prone to errors and bureaucratic reimbursement operational process. A latent market need, a pain of thousands. A dream come true for many: offering good food in and out of the office with all the convenience, reliability and intelligence both for companies and employees. Without these having to pay in advance and then ask for a refund. Simpler, faster and safer for everyone. And compliant with internal policies.
In less than 5 months the first B2B product was launched, in a union of Invillia-iFood expertise and leveraging their B2C leadership and lessons-learned. Then came the magic of digital tech, capable of scaling and expanding without limits.
Working closely and connected through our Global Growth Framework, Invillia-iFood squads co-idealized, developed, tested and launched the iFood Office. Market analysis and MVP (Minimum Viable Product) insights were critical for the final product success through precious customer feedback and subsequent adjustments – in a continuous improvement approach. Invillia participated in the entire process, from the first brainstorm meeting to the publication of the product landing page and management interface.
With iFood Office companies can finally centralize spending on events, business trips and meals in one single place, eliminating the annoying process of checking refund notes, gaining agility with a unique monthly payment and ensuring control and transparency over expenses. On the other hand, their employees don’t have to anticipate their personal money and get greater convenience and freedom to choose what to eat, receiving the order at the agreed time and place, and focusing on what really matters.
All of this in 4 simple steps:
- Companies fulfill an online registration form and through a back-office system, define their policies, cost center and access permissions
- Employees register their corporate email on the iFood app, choose dishes, place their orders and select the option “Corporate payment”
- The system verifies that everything is compliant, and the meal proof/voucher is directly sent to the company, guaranteeing full monitoring and control
- The order is delivered at the settled hour and address
Now, for the first time, employees can use a food delivery app for corporate expenses. And managing the demand for food in companies has never been easier.
Everything is automatic and with great user experience. Employees’ invoices and companies’ reimbursement spreadsheets are eliminated. Productivity and satisfaction increase – at a global level. Happy employees make awesome companies, right?
